Bacon Wrapped Pineapple

These pineapple bacon bites are a bit sticky, but wow, are they delicious!

Everyone loves a good Hawaiian pizza, but what if you weren’t in the mood for pizza? We know, we know, who wouldn’t be in the mood for pizza, so let’s just pretend you don’t have all the ingredients to make a Hawaiian pizza. What happens if you only have pineapple and bacon? Have we got a solution for you!

This is one of those appetizers that is not only great for a summer backyard cookout but also a Sunday afternoon of back to back football games. You can start with fresh or canned pineapple, just make sure to cut it into small bite size pieces. Cut the bacon into short strips so it just barely wraps around the piece of pineapple, that way you’ll get the best bacon to pineapple ratio and the bacon will cook evenly.

At this point these are good to go into the air fryer, but if you want to really kick it up another level, roll each one in brown sugar. Place in a single layer in your basket and cook for 9-10 minutes at 375 F degrees. We highly recommend lining your basket with tin foil or parchment paper to catch all the grease.

To serve, we like to stick a toothpick into each one since they are a bit sticky.
